The 100th Canton Fair To Be Held In Guangzhou, China (October 15-30, 2006 )

The 100^th Chinese Export Commodities Fair (CECF), also called “Canton Fair”, will be held in Guangzhou in two phases with the first phase from October 15 to 20 and the second from October 25 to 30 of 2006. The coming CECF is going to exhibit in the CECF (Pazhou) Complex and the CECF (Liuhua) Complex simultaneously, covering a gross exhibition space of 550,000 M² with 27,500 international standard booths and exhibiting 5 categories of products in 35 sections, including Industrial products, Textiles and Garments, Medicines and Health Products, Consumer Goods and Gifts.

Two Kinds of Invitations

1.     Paper Invitation Card: Valid for visa application and fair registration for overseas businessperson from the invited company.

2.     E-invitation: Valid for visa application and fair registration for overseas businessperson from the invited company.

How to Apply for Invitations

1.     Paper Invitation Card

l    Those who have attended and registered to the fair before will receive the paper invitation card directly from the organizer of the fair.

l    Those who have never attended the fair before can apply for the invitation card from the Economic & Commercial Section of the Chinese Consulate in Douala which is located beside Polyclinique Maïmonide in Bonapriso. Please refer to our website for detailed information on application of the invitation.

2.     E-invitation

Please visit the Canton Fair E-invitation platform on website at www.cantonfair.org.cn.

How to Apply for Visa

Please refer to our website for detailed information on application of visa to China and Hong Kong and download the application forms online or call the Chinese Consulate in Douala at telephone no. 3426276 for consultation.

How to Register to the Fair

To enter the Fair Complex, buyers should register for Buyer Card (PVC Card) first. Buyer Card is the only valid admission to the Fair and is available at both complexes and the appointed hotels. Please keep it well. Exhibitors will not bargain with visitors without the Buyer Card. On-line application and pre-registration is available at http://www.cantonfair.org.cn.

1. Paper Invitation Card / E-Invitation Holders will have to present:

c. A most recent passport photo (5cm x4cm)

2. On-line Applicants for PVC Card will have to present:

Transportation to the Fair

1.     Direct Flights to Guangzhou

Some flights of Air France and Ethiopian Airlines can reach Guangzhou directly. Please check with the agencies of those airlines in Douala for more information.

2.     Transit by Hong Kong

In addition to frequent airway and railway transportation, bus service is also available from Hong Kong to Guangzhou at the counter of A04, A05, B12, Arrivals, Hong Kong International Airport.

3.     Transit by Beijing or Shanghai

Frequent flights and express trains are available from Beijing or Shanghai to Guangzhou everyday.

4.     Guide of Guangzhou New International Airport

The Guangzhou new international airport was put into use in August 2004. Airport express (shuttle bus) and taxi are available for transportation between the airport and downtown. Taxi fee from the new airport is about RMB100 yuan to CECF Liuhua Complex and RMB160 yuan to CECF Pazhou Complex (for reference only).

In addition, free shuttle buses between the two CECF Complexes will be available for all the buyers during the period of the fair.
