Welcome to the website of the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.
Britain is an important trade partner to China. Its trade volume with China totals about $39.4 billion in 2007, the third largest in European countries. Britain is also the biggest European investor in China with accumulated investment of around $15 billion by the end of 2007. China and Britain are highly complimentary in such fields as oil, pharmaceutical, banking, insurance and transportation. Many British regions and companies have set up their representative offices or business operations in different areas and diversified industries in China, while more and more Chinese companies, either state-owned or private sectors, have also successfully established their businesses in the UK. Sino-British economic and business cooperation is developing at an ever fast speed.
